Troubleshooting Data isn’t syncing (first time setup)

Data isn’t syncing (first time setup)

Last updated: December 29, 2025

If you’re setting a website up with Rent Fetch for the first time and it’s not syncing, follow these basic troubleshooting tips to make sure things are set up right. If you’re still having trouble after checking these things, please feel free to open a ticket for more help.

Website & Rent Fetch Settings

Rent Fetch settings

  1. Verify that both Rent Fetch and Rent Fetch sync are installed, activated, and on the most recent version. You can find the most recent version of Rent Fetch right here, and Rent Fetch Sync right here (just look at the most recent number).
  2. Verify that in your Rent Fetch Settings, your sync is not paused. If it’s set to paused, it will not sync.
  3. Under Rent Fetch > Settings > General, check to ensure the credentials are correct AND all fields filled out (the required credentials may vary depending on PMS, but all available fields in the Rent Fetch Sync settings should be filled out).
  4. Check a Property’s sync status. Visit Properties, under the Syncing column, make sure all 3 dots are green (these represent the property, floor plans, and unit’s sync status). If any are yellow or red, this indicates a problem.
  5. Verify the property and floor plans are live in your PMS.

Website & hosting settings

  1. Basic Authentication: Make sure the privacy screen is turned OFF within Flywheel or the site host. Data cannot sync with this turned on (important for sites still in development). If your site is under development and is behind basic authentication (typically, this means you’ll need to enter a username and password just to view your site), then that can break some API calls. Disable basic authentication temporarily if possible, then go to a property / floor plan / unit that’s out of date, and click the Sync button at the top right to see if that resolves the issue.

PMS settings and configuration

Each PMS is different, and there are help documents for each:

Caching

We can’t control the various caches that are used on WordPress sites. If your data looks good in the admin panel, but isn’t showing up right on the frontend, this likely indicates a caching issue, and you should flush your cache (for most setups, this will resolve itself in a matter of hours regardless).

Take Your Apartment Website to the Next Level

Whether for an entire portfolio or a single property, get completely setup and sync new property info & floor plan data in 10 minutes or less.
