Property fees How to publish a Google Sheet to .csv

How to publish a Google Sheet to .csv

Last updated: December 9, 2025

If you have property fees that apply to multiple properties, or even if you just want an easy way to edit your property fees visually, that’s simple to do with Google Sheets.

PLEASE NOTE: Google Sheets sometimes takes a few minutes to publish your updates.

  1. Open your Google Sheet: Navigate to the specific Google Sheet you wish to publish.
  2. Make sure that it’s formatted correctly: The first row in your document MUST have these columns, exactly: description, price, frequency, notes, and category. (Within Rent Fetch, you can download a sample document that includes this data).
  3. Access “Publish to the web”: Go to File > Share > Publish to the web.
  4. Configure publishing options:
    • In the “Publish to the web” dialog box, select the specific sheet (for a .csv file, you can only have one sheet)
    • From the dropdown menu, choose Comma-separated values (.csv) as the publishing format.
  5. Publish the sheet:
    • If this is the first time publishing this sheet, click the Publish button.
    • Confirm the publishing action when prompted.
  6. Copy the CSV URL: A unique URL will be generated for your published CSV file. Copy this URL.

This URL can now be used to access the CSV data of your Google Sheet directly from the web. Any changes made to the original Google Sheet will automatically be reflected in the published CSV file if the “Automatically republish when changes are made” option is enabled during the publishing process.
